L.A. Eyeworks

L.A. Eyeworks, one of Neil Denari’s early built projects, has an exquisite set of display furniture and seating that assembles in multiple configurations. One when I was there with a group of students the assistant gave a hilarious impression of architects pretending to look at glasses frames as a cover for checking out the detailing. Well worth a visit.

Some drawings by Chris Thurlbourne who has been making these composites that mix drawing and model for a number of years. Chris often collaborates with artist Barnabus Wetton, and builds up layers of drawing on paper and with steel wire, adding surface of colour on the paper and other materials on the parts that become model. I will see if I can post a few more another time.

The drawings are made as both studies to develop independent ideas and as early stages of projects.
